Use a 10 millimeter socket wrench and small phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the bolts and single phillips head screw from the hinge on both sides.
Removing fridge doors and hinges.
Then remove the bottom hinge and mount it on the opposite side of the fridge.
Remount the fridge door.
The next step is to remove the front grille from the bottom of the appliance which you can usually do by pulling.
A pivot hinge allows a door to pivot from a single point at the top and bottom of the door.
Remove the cover and place it upside down on top of the fridge to hold the loose screws and hinge bolts.
Removing the left refrigerator door.
If you re undertaking a ge refrigerator door removal you can do this with the doors closed but for models from some manufacturers such as whirlpool the doors have to be open and askew 90 degrees to the refrigerator body.
Disconnect the electrical wire on the top of the refrigerator.
Remove the tube disconnect the wire harnesses and remove the grounding screw.
Check for plastic parts at both hinges and label them.
Open the left door and remove the top hinge cover screw.
You may need to tilt the fridge door slightly and slide the top pivot pin in as you bring the door down.
Pivot hinges are different than butt hinges which are attached at the side of a door and have a pin.

Some repairs require removing the door such as replacing the hinge cam or the bottom.
How to remove a refrigerator door.
This will reveal the wiring harness coupling that supplies power to the icemaker and water.
With the wrench remove the four bolts that hold the hinges to the top of the refrigerator.
Remove the two screws on the bottom of the fridge frame the new hinge side.
If you find a doorway to be narrower than expected you might have to remove the hinge brackets located near the middle of the refrigerator where the doors sit.
Separate the hinge from the wiring as shown below.
After unplugging your refrigerator and moving it away from the wall disconnect the water supply line by pressing the fitting release ring and pulling the water tube out of the connector fitting.
Next remove the middle hinge screws and the bottom door.
Remove the screw from the hinge cover and then disassemble the cover hinge on the top of the refrigerator.
Swap the door handles and the door stops to the opposite sides of the door photo 2.
There are times when it may be necessary to remove the refrigerator door.
Then remove the upper door photo 1.
