Removing The Rear Roof Speaker Dodge Ram Alpine

Lift the grille disconnect the sensor wiring harness and remove the grille. You should hear no voices in the door speakers just mid bass. I am confused about the speaker wiring. The center dash speaker in alpine equipped trucks are 3 1 2 models that are quite easy to remove and replace.

The fix is simple though. For ease of replacement use crutchfield harness 12071039 on all of these speakers. Remove the two coat hooks 7 lower the rear of the headliner 9 downward from the roof panel 10 and disconnect the headliner wire harness connector 8 from the center high mounted stop lamp. Use a panel tool to pry up the speaker grille and release four clips.

The small one comes out easy. To get at the rear speakers you will need to remove the 2 armrest panels and the rear deck carpet. For removal the dash speakers are each held in by two bolts which require a 7mm socket. To do this first drop down the rear seats and find a set of fir tree pins at each side.

The large one will require a little leverage screwdriver to pop free. Next remove the two 7mm screws securing the speaker disconnect it and remove it. There is an amplifier in the dash that separates the lows and highs between the doors low and dash high. Do i match up the wires for the speakers or do i have to change the for the ones.

Removing them is easy and aftermarket replacements are available but installing the new ones will take a little work on your part because there are no mounting brackets available. On my 2009 ram laramie with the alpine i put a thunderform box under the rear seat with two 10 re subs and a 2 piece hertz component speakers up front with the tweeter in that corner in the window. The rear speakers get a full range sound voices and music but it is muffled because the speakers are not alpine speakers. It has just the six speakers.
