Repair Leak By Awning Rail

Not the same problem but in case others have suffered leaks along the awning rail we had a similar problem with a new sunncamp ultima 180.

This tent awning repair kit includes everything you need to repair rips and holes in most materials and fabrics. The surface must be free of dirt grease oil rust tar and any other contaminant that will inhibit a proper seal. This is a quick video showing what i used to seal repair my caravan from damp. You get 2 sachets of repair solution 5g 2 x repair tape patches 75mm diameter and 1 reel of repair tape 500mm.

The user must push out any trapped air bubbles. Clean the area surrounding the leak. The kit is also supplied with an alcohol wipe sachet and a spatula spreader. If the user positions the tape incorrectly it is best not to pull up the tape and then reposition it.

Started off as usual removing the trim from the front lower awning rail. Now lift away the awning rail remember they bend very easily. Wash the awning with a mixture of warm water. To apply the awning tape the user should push the tear together while the fabric rests on a flat surface and then apply a length of tape.

Therefore the stitching along the awning rail needs to be seam sealed this is usual for tents were the the fabric can t be taped.
